Gangtok & Darjeeling Holiday

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arrival at Bagdogra, drive to Gangtok

   Pickup from Bagdogra airport or NJP station and a 4 to 5 hour drive along the Teesta river to Gangtok. Evening walk on the car-free MG Marg. Overnight in Gangtok.

2. Day 2

   Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir

   Drive up to Tsomgo (Changu) Lake at 12,300 ft, ringed by snow peaks, with an optional yak ride. Continue to Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir. Nathula Pass can be added on permit. Overnight in Gangtok.

3. Day 3

   Gangtok sightseeing: Rumtek and Enchey

   Visit Rumtek Monastery, Enchey Monastery, Banjhakri Falls and the Tashi viewpoint facing Kanchenjunga. Evening at the Ropeway or shopping at Lal Bazaar. Overnight in Gangtok.

4. Day 4

   Gangtok to Darjeeling via the Teesta

   Drive about 100 km (4 hours) down to the Teesta and up through tea country to Darjeeling. Evening stroll on the Mall and Chowrasta with a cup of first-flush tea. Overnight in Darjeeling.

5. Day 5

   Tiger Hill sunrise and Darjeeling sightseeing

   Early drive to Tiger Hill to watch the sun light up Kanchenjunga. Ghoom Monastery and the Batasia Loop on the way back, then the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, a tea garden visit and a toy train joyride. Overnight in Darjeeling.

6. Day 6

   Darjeeling to Bagdogra, departure

   Breakfast with a last mountain view and a 3 hour drive down to Bagdogra airport or NJP station for your onward journey. Trip ends.
