Kashmir Grand Holiday with Sonamarg

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arrival in Srinagar and the Boulevard

   Pickup from the airport and check in to your Srinagar hotel. Evening walk on Boulevard Road along Dal Lake with a cup of kahwa. Overnight in Srinagar.

2. Day 2

   Mughal gardens, Shankaracharya and a houseboat night

   Visit Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh and Chashme Shahi, then climb to the Shankaracharya Temple for a view of the city. Shikara ride at sunset and a night on a Dal Lake houseboat.

3. Day 3

   Sonamarg and Thajiwas Glacier

   Day trip of about 80 km along the Sindh river to Sonamarg, the Meadow of Gold. Pony ride or walk up to the Thajiwas Glacier. Back to Srinagar in the evening. Overnight in Srinagar.

4. Day 4

   Srinagar to Gulmarg

   Drive up to Gulmarg and check in. Afternoon walk to St Mary's Church and the golf course, one of the highest in the world. Overnight in Gulmarg.

5. Day 5

   Gulmarg Gondola, then on to Pahalgam

   Morning Gondola ride to Kongdoori and on to Apharwat peak when open. After lunch, drive about 4 hours to Pahalgam. Overnight in Pahalgam.

6. Day 6

   Aru, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari

   A full day in the Pahalgam valleys: the pine meadows of Aru, Betaab Valley and Chandanwari, start of the Amarnath trail. Overnight in Pahalgam.

7. Day 7

   Pahalgam to Srinagar airport, departure

   Drive back to Srinagar with a saffron and cricket bat stop on the way, then drop at Srinagar airport. Trip ends.
