Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day 1

   Arrival in Kochi and Fort Kochi walk

   Pickup from Kochi airport. See the Chinese fishing nets, St Francis Church, Mattancherry Palace and Jew Town, then sunset on Fort Kochi beach. Overnight in Kochi.

2. Day 2

   Kochi to Munnar via the waterfalls

   Drive about 130 km (4 hours) into the hills with stops at Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls. Evening among the tea estates. Overnight in Munnar.

3. Day 3

   Munnar: Eravikulam, Tea Museum and Mattupetty

   Spot Nilgiri tahr in Eravikulam National Park, learn how tea is made at the Tea Museum, then visit Mattupetty Dam and Echo Point. Overnight in Munnar.

4. Day 4

   Munnar to Thekkady spice country

   Drive about 90 km (3 hours) to Thekkady. Guided spice plantation tour, boat ride on Periyar Lake and an evening Kathakali or Kalaripayattu show. Overnight in Thekkady.

5. Day 5

   Thekkady to Alleppey, houseboat cruise

   Drive about 140 km (4 hours) to Alleppey and board your houseboat at noon. Cruise the backwaters past paddy fields and village jetties, with lunch, dinner and tea served on board. Overnight on the houseboat.

6. Day 6

   Houseboat breakfast and departure

   Breakfast on the deck, check out by 9 am and drive about 85 km to Kochi airport. Trip ends.
